Barbara has had primary leadership responsibility in CIMA’s Claims Department since it was established in the early 1980’s. Claims management at CIMA includes reporting the individual claims to the insurer, following them through until they are resolved accurately and fairly, documenting the progress of each claim for the client, monitoring reserves, and working with the account executive and loss control staff at CIMA to ensure that loss-control activities on the client’s behalf are responsive to actual incidents and claims.

Barbara is certified in her field of specialization by the Insurance Institute of America.

Dick’s work includes technical evaluations for underwriting and loss control; providing loss control program development, implementation and monitoring for clients; providing technical advice to claims adjusters on CIMA clients’ behalf; developing training programs; and assisting in all aspects of loss recovery for clients.
Before joining CIMA in 1982, Dick was manager of the loss control department of CIGNA’s Washington regional office for ten years. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, National Fire Protection Association, and the Society for Risk Analysis. He also is a member of the National Safety Management Society, and has served as local chapter president and a member of the board of governors of that organization.

Dick received is BA degree from Catholic University of America, Washington, D. C, with graduate work there and at George Washington University.
